We all are created in God’s image (Genesis 1:27), so we believe God loves people of all ages, abilities, and races. God loves all of us, including those who are transgender, non-binary, queer, or straight. God loves our many types of families, in their immense diversity. At Good Shepherd we are imagining news ways of being church, new ways of being community, rooted in Jesus’ love. We are welcoming people as they are, meeting them where they are in the community, and inviting our neighbors to participate in the life of our ministry. We offer a Sunday school for smaller children, youth group for teens, and campus ministry program for students and cadets attending Virginia Military Institute, Washington & Lee University, and Dabney Lancaster Community College. We offer a host of other ministries including youth Bible study, adult Bible Study, theology reading group, Shepherd Stitchers, and beyond. We also invite people simply to join us for Sunday worship and take their time in getting involved.
